Drug Trafficking Ring Busted in Casablanca: Six Arrested for Kidnapping and Assault

Six people were arrested by the police services in Casablanca. They are, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), accused of drug and psychotropic trafficking.
In addition to the charges of "drug and psychotropic trafficking", the accused must also answer for "kidnapping and violent sequestration". Aged 22 to 43, these six individuals, including a repeat offender, were apprehended as they were allegedly involved in a case of violence in which a person was savagely assaulted for having acted as an intermediary in a cocaine trafficking case. The victim was found injured in a house located in a rural area. According to the DGSN, all these crimes were filmed and sent to a member of the victim’s family for blackmail.
After investigation, the suspects were apprehended by the judicial police in Casablanca, reports La Map. The police were able to seize nearly a kilogram of a white powder, suspected to be cocaine, as well as bladed weapons and three vehicles used in this criminal act, the source continues.
The defendants, including the victim and his brother suspected of being involved in fraud and mediation cases, were taken into custody pending further investigations.
