Drug Smugglers Arrested at Toulouse Airport with 680 Grams of Cannabis in Stomachs

Two young people from Tarn, returning from a stay in Morocco, were arrested on Friday in Toulouse with 680 grams of cannabis in their stomachs.
The two Tarnais were apprehended on their arrival at Toulouse-Blagnac airport from Morocco. They were suspected of transporting drugs. It was not found in their luggage or on them, but in their stomachs. The defendants had swallowed no less than 136 capsules of 5 grams of high-quality cannabis each, which could be sold at 20 euros per gram.
The x-rays taken at the hospital by the defendants allowed the detection of the presence of 81 capsules in the stomach of one and 55 in that of the other, reports La Dépêche, specifying that the two individuals were placed in police custody in a hospital where they remained all weekend, the time to expel the merchandise.
A search carried out at the home of one of them made it possible to discover 6 other capsules probably from a previous trip. The defendants, for their part, claim that the drug found is intended solely for their personal consumption. The two men, confirmed drug addicts, met in prison a few years ago. They have already been convicted several times for drug trafficking offenses.
The two men appeared on Monday before the Castres criminal court. Married and father of a 14-year-old teenager, one aged 47 is a part-time nursing assistant at the Castres hospital. The other, 37, indebted following problems with his multi-service company, is homeless. They were placed in pre-trial detention, one at the Béziers remand prison, the other at the Seysses remand prison, pending the hearing postponed to November 14.
