French Police Bust Major Moroccan Cannabis Ring, Seize 300kg of Drugs

A French police operation has led to the dismantling of a drug trafficking network from Morocco. In total, 22 suspects were arrested, including 7 indicted, and more than 300 kg of drugs were seized.
The intervention was carried out from October 25 to 26 in the departments of Bouches-du-Rhône, Alpes-Maritimes, Haut-Rhin, Jura and Côte d’Or, the Marseille prosecutor’s office said, specifying that the traffickers were operating in the regions of Bourgogne, Paca, Occitanie and Île-de-France.
The various searches led to the seizure of 291 kg of cannabis resin from Morocco, 13 kg of cocaine, nearly 130,000 € in cash, weapons, ten vehicles and luxury watches. Investigators arrested 22 people aged 21 to 59, all taken into custody.
After questioning, an individual considered the head of the network and five other people as well as a major Marseille drug trafficker were indicted for organized drug trafficking, drug-related offenses and weapons, criminal conspiracy, aggravated money laundering and failure to justify resources. Investigations are ongoing to arrest other members of this network.
