Arrested on Tuesday evening by the brigade against criminal gangs in Salé, the drug baron "Moussa" whose ultra-luxurious wedding organized in the Zeghanghane region had caused controversy, was placed in detention in the Selouane prison, on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office in Nador.
The notorious trafficker nicknamed "Moussa" was incarcerated in the Selouane prison. This is the decision taken by the investigating judge of the Nador Court of Appeal on Friday evening, in accordance with a requisition from the Attorney General of the King before the same jurisdiction. He is being prosecuted for the formation of a criminal gang, premeditated murder, attempted murder, possession of firearms, drug and human trafficking, document forgery, possession of vehicles without justification, receiving stolen goods and use of forged license plates.
Located in Salé, in the Marina district, and in Agdal in Rabat, where he frequented a café known for smoking shisha, Moussa was finally arrested on Tuesday evening by the brigade against criminal gangs, thanks to information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). The preliminary investigation focuses on Moussa’s relationships with civil servants, officials and other barons operating in the north of the country. The identity of the accomplices has not been made public, in accordance with the instructions of the public prosecutor’s office and the investigating judge. During his interrogation, the baron revealed to the police the details of his extravagant wedding organized last August in the Azghanghan region of the Nador province.
The celebration of this wedding turned into a series of documented offenses in sound and image. The videos published on social networks show a considerable display of wealth. The singers who animated the evening were paid large sums. On the web, many Internet users denounced the laxity of the authorities and reproached them for having turned a blind eye to the offenses committed during the celebration of the wedding. A few days later, the National Brigade of the Judicial Police opened an investigation into the celebration of this sumptuous wedding. In addition to the participants in the scenes of disorder, the investigation also targets security officials, gendarmerie or police. They would have shown negligence. The regional commander of Nador was replaced by a new official attached to Rabat.
In total, 34 people have already been arrested. Firearms exhibited during the wedding procession were also seized.
