Drug Baron’s Lavish Wedding Fallout: Key Associate Arrested in Café Raid

The arrest took place on Thursday in a café located on the coastal road connecting Nador and Al Hoceïma. Suspected of being involved in the gunfire incidents that occurred during the ultra-luxurious and controversial wedding of Moussa, which had threatened the security of the guests and caused widespread panic, the suspect was the subject of a wanted notice issued by the services of the Royal Gendarmerie. During the search, the investigators seized a quantity of hallucinogenic tablets, which would be intended for illegal promotion among the youth of the region. These substances have been subjected to technical expertise to verify their nature.

To recall, the celebration of Moussa’s wedding in the Azghanghan region of the Nador province turned into a series of documented offenses in sound and image. The videos published on social networks show a considerable display of wealth. The singers who entertained the evening were paid large sums. On the web, many Internet users have denounced the laxity of the authorities and have reproached them for having turned a blind eye to the offenses committed in the context of the celebration of the wedding.

A few days later, the National Brigade of the Judicial Police opened an investigation into the celebration of this sumptuous wedding. In addition to the participants in the scenes of disorder, the investigation also targets security officials, from the gendarmerie or the police. They would have shown negligence or turned a blind eye to these offenses that occurred in their territorial jurisdiction. In total, 34 people have already been arrested. Firearms exhibited during the wedding procession have also been seized. The accused have been transferred to the headquarters of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations in Salé for questioning. Moussa is not among the arrested persons. He is said to have managed to flee with his wife before the intervention of the Moroccan police forces.
