Driver Sought in Fatal Hit-and-Run on Paris Highway; Police Appeal for Witnesses

In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, a driver ran over a 30-year-old man lying on the A6 B, near Gentilly. To find the hit-and-run driver, the police launched an appeal for witnesses.
According to the investigation conducted by the CRS motorway South Île-de-France, the victim, Nabil, was lying in the middle of the highway, about ten minutes before a hit-and-run driver ran him over. To clarify the circumstances of the accident, an appeal for witnesses was launched, reports Le Parisien.
The CCTV images show Nabil, 32, who suffers from mental retardation, smoking a cigarette at the level of the central wall and then lying down on the highway.
After several users managed to avoid him, he is finally run over by a car. The driver stops for about ten minutes, without getting out of his car, before resuming his journey. But the tragedy is that no witness was able to note the license plate of the vehicle and cannot describe the car model.
Nabil is taken to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital. His health condition deteriorates rapidly and he dies the next afternoon.
"Recently, we have noted an increase in pedestrians circulating on the highway. These are generally drivers whose vehicles have broken down, who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or who are not up to date and fear a check," points out a police officer.
