6-Year-Old Girl Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Aubervilliers Tragedy

Last Monday, a tragedy occurred in Aubervilliers. Sofia, a 6-year-old girl, died after being hit by a reckless driver on the former N2. The latter was taken into custody.
After fleeing the scene of the tragedy, the driver, around twenty years old, went to surrender Wednesday at the Aubervilliers police station. He admitted the facts and was taken into custody.
The facts. At the wheel of a blue Clio 2, with several passengers on board, the young man violently hit the victim on the pedestrian crossing on Avenue Jean-Jaurès, at the level of the Rechossière street intersection, reports Le Parisien.
The little girl did not survive this accident which caused her several skull fractures and affected one of her lungs. Already in cardiorespiratory arrest on the arrival of the emergency services, she died at the Necker hospital in Paris.
"He killed my daughter. She was appreciated by everyone. She was doing well in school, she had everything to succeed," says Hakim, Sofia’s inconsolable father.
For Azzedine Taïbi, the mayor (PCF) of Stains, what happened "is unfair and terrible". "I spoke to the mother on the phone who is thinking of a white march. We will be at her disposal to support her in the organization, if she wishes. We will support the whole family, who had just settled in our city, in their grief and pain," says the mayor.
