"Don’t yell at me"

A video titled "Don’t yell at me" showing a kindergarten student during an educational exchange with his teacher has caused an uproar on the web. The El Jadida public prosecutor’s office has ordered the opening of a preliminary investigation to clarify this case.
In the video, the student responds to a question from the teacher about a grammatical error by saying: "Why are you yelling at me?". The teacher in question, as well as another person involved in this case, were released on Wednesday after being heard by the elements of the prefectural police service of El Jadida. The investigation, conducted by the judicial police, is ongoing to determine the identity of the person who recorded and posted the video on social networks.
The dissemination of this video on the web has sparked a lively controversy. Opinions are divided. While some found the video amusing, saluting the audacity of the student, others on the other hand denounced a violation of the rights of the child, in particular the right to the image, stressing that the video was filmed without the prior consent of the minor’s parents.
According to some sources, the teacher would have recorded the video with the agreement of the student’s mother, then would have sent it by message to the latter in order to inform her of the incident. It is the mother of the child who, after receiving the video, would have shared it with several family members, which made the video viral on social networks and caused a psychological crisis in the child.
In the complaint filed against the school with the competent public prosecutor’s office, the student’s father accuses the establishment of having filmed the scene and shared the video on social networks without the parents’ authorization, which would constitute a violation of Article 447 of the Penal Code which punishes with a sentence of six months to three years in prison, accompanied by a fine of 2,000 to 20,000 dirhams any person who publishes information on the private life of another without his consent.
