Domestic Violence Tragedy in Madrid: Man Kills Wife, Self, Orphaning 4 Children

Ahmed, 42, was in the process of getting divorced, according to sources cited by the local press. As the divorce was about to be definitively pronounced, the man went to his wife’s home before killing her. He then committed suicide.

When the police and emergency services arrived, they could do nothing for the couple. They were able to observe on the spot the violence of the assault on the woman and the two bodies in a pool of blood.

"We are in shock," says a neighbor of the couple in this reportedly quiet suburb of Madrid.

It was a friend of the Moroccan woman who called the emergency services, worried not to see her. When the police entered, they discovered the two bodies in the bedroom. The man had nevertheless been prohibited from approaching his ex-wife. Several cases of domestic violence had already been reported by the woman in the past. The last one dates back to January 19. This Thursday, March 3, they had an appointment with the judge who was to definitively pronounce the separation.

The couple had four children aged 6, 8, 9 and 12 years old. They were entrusted to their maternal aunt.
