The Saragossa court has sentenced the Moroccan Mohammed AD and his wife, Hedangeline AL, of Venezuelan origin, to 34 years in prison for the murder of a businessman from Getxo (Basque Country), buried alive in Pedrola (Saragossa) in 2019.

The couple was found guilty of violent theft and the murder of José Antonio Delgado Frenedo, as well as the crimes of kidnapping and fraud. The Saragossa court sentenced each member of the criminal network to 25 years in prison for murder, 6 for violent theft and 3 for fraud, and to jointly pay compensation of 185,618 euros to the victim’s son, 56,625 euros to each of his parents (father and mother) and 19,400 to each of his two brothers.

According to the modus operandi of the latter, the woman poses as a call girl on the social network Badoo and as soon as a victim bites the bait, she arranges a meeting place with her and then robs her of her belongings with the help of the other members of the network. This is how she invited the Basque businessman to meet her on the road leading to Luceni (Saragossa). Then, the latter was kidnapped and tortured by the Moroccan and the other members of the gang before being buried alive in an uninhabited area of the municipality of Pedrola (Saragossa).

His body was found by the Civil Guard about twenty days later. Meanwhile, the couple had sold the victim’s car and made withdrawals on his bank card of up to 1,800 euros at several ATMs.
