Delta Air Lines to Launch Direct Flights from Atlanta to Marrakech in 2025
An agreement between the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and Delta Air Lines will create a direct air link between Atlanta and Marrakech starting in October 2025. This new route, operated by Boeing 767-400s with 238 seats, will offer three flights per week.
This is the second direct link between Marrakech and the United States, after the one established with New York two years ago. This new connection adds to Royal Air Maroc’s flights connecting Casablanca to New York, Washington and Miami. Marrakech will thus be accessible from three major North American hubs: Montreal (Air Transat), New York (United Airlines) and Atlanta (Delta Air Lines).
Atlanta, considered the world’s largest air hub, serves more than 125 cities in the United States. This new link therefore represents a significant opportunity for Morocco to increase the number of American tourists, a market estimated at 125 million travelers per year.
Delta Air Lines, the oldest American airline, will make its first flight to Morocco and North Africa. This agreement follows promotional campaigns led by the ONMT, particularly in New York, to promote the Moroccan destination.
In 2024, 402,377 American tourists visited Morocco, an increase of 7% compared to 2023. January 2025 recorded a 31% increase in American arrivals compared to the same period the previous year (26,777 visitors). Morocco’s long-term goal is to reach one million American tourists per year.
