Morocco Aims to Attract 1 Million US Tourists Annually in Tourism Push

Morocco is reconquering the American tourist market. This time, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) is aiming for one million American tourists per year.
Promoting the diversity and richness of Morocco’s tourism and hotel offer and consolidating Morocco’s presence in the American market. This is the objective pursued by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) which organized a new roadshow in the United States. It started in Miami on April 15 and ended in New York on April 17. By launching this initiative, the ONMT aims for one million American tourists per year, compared to 400,000 in 2023, generating 800,000 overnight stays, an increase of 19% compared to 2019.
On this occasion, the Moroccan ambassador to Washington, Youssef Amrani, highlighted the cultural richness and natural beauty of Morocco, underlined its unique character as a leading tourist destination, but also the legendary hospitality of the kingdom and its commitment to sustainable tourism, reports Challenge. For her part, Siham Fettouhi, director of the ONMT for North America, indicated that this initiative aims to strengthen the visibility and commercialization of the Moroccan destination in the United States, a strategic market, and that the new direct flight between New York and Marrakech, operated by United Airlines starting next October, was a key element of this strategy.
