US Delegation Arrives in Morocco for Laâyoune Connect Headquarters Inauguration

As part of the ongoing preparations for the inauguration of an official headquarters for Lâayoune Connect, a high-ranking American diplomatic delegation arrived this Wednesday at the Hassan I airport of Lâayoune.
An American delegation has been staying in Morocco since Tuesday, as part of the inauguration on Wednesday of the Laâyoune Connect platform. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Abdessalam Bakrat, accompanied by officials and elected representatives of the region.
The Laâyoune Connect platform is a project carried out thanks to the efforts of the American government, with the aim of promoting regional investment and marketing in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region. The implementation of the project was carried out by the international consulting firm JE Austin Associates, a company based in Washington with a regional office in Rabat. The financing is provided by the US government through the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).
The main mission of this platform is to connect companies in the region with local and international investors. All this through an online search engine that will present the platform. Agriculture, fishing, tourism, renewable energies and logistics are the sectors primarily concerned by the services offered by this platform.
The launch of the platform is part of a list of many activities planned by the local authorities, in order to encourage investment and territorial marketing in the region.
