Death Toll Rises to 28 in Errachidia Bus Tragedy as Rescuers Find Another Body

Rescue teams discovered, on Saturday, September 14, at the level of the Hassan Dakhil dam, the lifeless body of another victim of the overturning of a bus at the level of the Oued Damchan bridge in the commune of El Khank in the province of Errachidia. This latest discovery brings the death toll from the tragedy to 28.
The death toll from the Errachidia tragedy has reached 28 deaths. This increase follows the discovery of the body of another victim on the 7th day of the search.
In total, the new data indicates that the overturning of the bus at the level of the Oued Damchan bridge in the commune of El Khank in the province of Errachidia recorded 30 survivors and 28 deaths. They indeed prove that the bus driver had made an oversized load.
The tragedy occurred following the floods caused by the torrential rains. Upon announcement of this tragedy, a delegation composed of the Minister of the Interior, Abdelaoufi Lafitit, the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, Abdelkader Amara, and the Army Corps General, Mohamed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, had gone to the scene to assess the extent of the damage.
Realizing the situation, the authorities deployed human and logistical resources to find the remaining passengers of the bus, considered missing.
