Death Toll Rises to 24 in Errachidia Bus Tragedy as More Bodies Recovered

The Errachidia tragedy has not finished surprising by the extent of the damage. Indeed, five new bodies of victims were recovered on Friday, September 13, bringing the death toll of this sad accident to 24.

The toll of the tragedy is unfortunately worsening, plunging new families into sadness. On Friday, September 13 in the morning, the authorities of the wilaya of the Drâa-Tafilalet region announced that the bodies of three men and two women had been recovered, as part of the search operations carried out since last Sunday, September 8 by the competent authorities following the overturning of a bus.

Meanwhile, the same source indicates that all the services concerned are still mobilized to find any missing persons. It should be recalled that 24 hours later, the driver of the bus, who had fled, surrendered on Monday, September 9, to the health authorities of the Moulay Ali Chérif Regional Hospital.

In total, the number of survivors of this tragic accident is 30 people who received the necessary consultations and care at the Moulay Ali Cherif Regional Hospital.

This painful situation experienced by several families is closely followed by the first authority of the Kingdom. Indeed, on the instructions of King Mohammed VI, a high-level delegation had traveled to the scene of the accident and the care of the survivors, to inquire about the situation on the ground following the flood of Wadi Damchan (commune of El Khank).

Indeed, three personalities, not the least, made up this delegation. They are the Minister of the Interior, Abdelaoufi Lafitit, the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, Abdelkader Amara, and the Army Corps General, Mohamed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie.
