Deadly Van Crash in Morocco’s Taroudant Province Kills 5, Injures 10

Five people died and about ten passengers were injured in a serious road accident near Taliouine in the province of Taroudant. The Royal Gendarmerie services are conducting an investigation to shed light on this tragedy.
A heavy toll. Five people died and about ten passengers were injured in a serious road accident that occurred on Monday morning near Taliouine in the province of Taroudant. The cause of the tragedy was the overturning and fall of a van from a steep cliff of more than 50 meters in the rural commune of Zagmouzen, under the circle of Taliouine, in the province of Taroudant. While the driver was heading to the weekly market in Taliouine, he lost control of his vehicle in a bend, causing the fall of the vehicle with 15 people on board.
Informed, the local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie and the elements of Civil Protection arrived at the scene of the tragedy. The bodies of the victims were recovered. The injured were admitted to the emergency room of the provincial hospital of Taroudant. But the serious cases were evacuated to the Hassan II Regional Hospital Center in Agadir to receive the necessary care.
An investigation has been opened by the public prosecutor’s office. Currently, the services of the Royal Gendarmerie are conducting investigations to determine the causes of the accident.
