Deadly House Fire Linked to Faulty Phone Charger, Sparks Safety Concerns

The causes of the fire that ravaged a house in Sidi Allal Bahraoui, in the province of Khémisset, on Sunday, August 4, 2019, resulting in the death of a young girl, are now known.
The fire would be due to the explosion of a defective mobile phone charger, according to the first elements of the investigation.
The images broadcast on social networks are still in everyone’s memory. The young girl remained trapped in her room due to the window grilles. The very slow intervention of the emergency services is now being criticized by many local residents.
This tragedy revives the debate on the marketing of counterfeit chargers. Yet the Ministry of Industry had banned their import and sale in the country.
