Deadly Casablanca Fire Linked to Phone Charger: Child Killed, Sister Injured

Casablanca was the scene of a new tragedy caused by poor quality phone chargers. A child died in a fire that broke out on Tuesday morning.
The incident that took place in an apartment in Sidi Maarouf in Casablanca resulted in one death and one serious injury, the sister of the deceased child, reports the site Akhbarona.
The site adds that the incident was likely caused by a phone charger, which must have remained plugged in for a long time.
An incident that is not the first of its kind in Morocco, knowing that many deaths caused by phone chargers have been recorded in recent months.
New measures decreed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry specify that "imports of mobile phone chargers are subject to compliance control according to Moroccan standards. Goods will therefore only be able to leave the port after the presentation of a certificate issued by the Ministry".
