Deadly Forest Fire in Morocco Claims Life, Injures Volunteer as Crews Battle Blaze

The fire that broke out in the "Khandek Tessyana" forest in the commune of Galaz continues to cause damage. On Monday evening, the local authorities reported one dead and one seriously injured among the volunteers.
Morocco has been facing forest fires in several regions for a few weeks now. This is the case of the one raging in the "Khandek Tessyana" forest in the commune of Galaz, which has claimed one dead and one seriously injured. According to the local authorities, the injured person was evacuated to the provincial hospital in Taounate to receive the necessary care.
Despite this sad news, the intervention teams and volunteers continue to fight the flames and assist the inhabitants of the Douar Taouraret, a village located near the fire outbreaks. According to the provisional assessment, the fire has already ravaged 33 hectares of forests.
