Deadline Approaches: Moroccans Urged to Register to Vote by December 31
December 31, 2019 is the deadline set by the Ministry of the Interior for Moroccans not yet registered on the electoral lists and who meet the legal requirements, to comply. The Ministry of the Interior made the announcement this Sunday through a press release.
In addition to meeting the legal requirements, the press release specifies that one must be at least 18 years old or reach that age by March 31, 2020. The registration applications of the persons concerned can be filed directly with the competent administrative offices or via the website listeselectorales.ma.
Voters who have changed their place of residence must submit, before the expiration of the legal deadline which is December 31, the transfer of registration requests to the municipality or district where they have established their residence.
Regarding voters who have changed their place of residence within the same municipality or district, they are required to inform the local administrative authorities of their new addresses in order to update their addresses on the electoral lists, adds the same source.
Voters who are already registered on the current general electoral lists have the possibility to verify their data by sending an SMS to the free number 2727, concludes the press release.
