Davis Cup: Morocco to Face Host Algeria in Africa Zone III Group Match

Following the draw for the Davis Cup Africa Zone III Group, held in Algiers on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Morocco will have to face Algeria, the host country of the tournament.
Morocco is placed in Group B with Algeria, Namibia and Kenya. The Moroccans will enter the competition this Wednesday, August 10 at the Bachdjarah Tennis Club in Algiers against the Algerian tennis players.
In Group A, we find Benin, Mozambique, Côte d’Ivoire and Zimbabwe. According to the regulations, at the end of the classification matches, three national teams will qualify for the 2023 Group 2 (Europe-Africa Zone) playoffs, and two countries will be relegated to Group 4 (Africa Zone).
Morocco is participating in this competition without Moroccan tennis player Elliot Benchetrit, who has withdrawn due to a back injury.
