Dakhla: Morocco’s Rising Kitesurf Destination Draws Record Tourist Numbers

The seaside resort of Dakhla seduces many European tourists with its wild and untamed character. It reveals Moroccan tourism beyond the borders of the kingdom.
Dakhla is one of the top kitesurf spots. In fifteen years of existence, this seaside resort has developed a real tourist economy. European tourists from southern Morocco have adopted it as a destination thanks to its endless wild beaches and its wild and untamed character, informs lci.fr.
In total, there were 100,000 visitors last year, four times more than ten years ago, which represents a record for Dakhla. This former fishing village, now a haven for kitesurfers, has welcomed a handful of French pioneers who have left everything to settle there and open hotels and restaurants.
Dakhla is now the favorite spot for lovers of raw nature, squeezed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sahara Desert. The attractive assets of Dakhla constitute a source of foreign exchange for Moroccan tourism.
