New COVID-19 Center Opens in Al Hoceima to Ease Hospital Strain
In an effort to find an alternative to the congestion of the Imzouren hospital and to offer better care to patients, the city of Al Hoceima has equipped itself with a new medical center to accommodate asymptomatic Covid-19 cases.
This new medical center reinforces the health offer in the province and reassures those who were asking questions about the management of patients since the cases of contamination began to multiply. According to the daily Al Akhbar, the new structure will only accommodate patients who do not show any symptoms of the virus. They will be welcomed for check-ups and will have to return home to continue the health protocol described by the health authorities.
As for people suffering from chronic diseases and showing symptoms, they will be referred to the nearby Imzouren hospital to receive the necessary treatment. As for the Targuist hospital, it will be dedicated solely to screening, avoiding long distances for the inhabitants.
Given the fact that the cases in intensive care and resuscitation are quite high, an oxygen reservoir has been installed at the Imzouren hospital to make up for the recorded deficit. The existing oxygen bottles have been stored to avoid stock shortages, the same source said.
