Coronavirus Privacy Breach: Probe Launched After Flight Passenger List Leaked Online

A judicial investigation has been opened by the public prosecutor’s office at the Court of First Instance in Casablanca, following the circulation on social networks of the passenger list of a flight from a foreign country, one of whom showed symptoms of the coronavirus.
According to a statement from the Public Prosecutor, the investigation was opened with the legal effects that follow.
According to the same source, this act could constitute a criminal offense due to the disclosure of professional secrecy, defamation and infringement of personal data.
The parties concerned could be questioned in the coming days.
