Moroccan Prosecutors Investigate Leaked COVID-19 Patient List, Raising Privacy Concerns

The public prosecutor’s office of the Court of Appeal of Casablanca wants to know the truth about a list containing the names of people presumed to be infected with the coronavirus. It has ordered the opening of a judicial investigation.
The judicial investigation will not only determine the authenticity of the list, but also the party responsible for the leak of the list, said the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Casablanca, in a statement on Monday.
This is a procedure that will establish whether it is an offense of the law relating to the dissemination of false information, a violation of professional secrecy or an infringement of privacy and personal data.
