Controversy Erupts Over Lavish Villa Rental and Renovations for Nador Mayor

The State has just rented, for the Mayor of Nador, a villa whose monthly rent amounts to 45,000 dirhams. And he is said to have renovated it, spending the staggering sum of 6,000,000 dirhams, according to certain media sources.
According to Goud, the Ministry of the Interior has just rented, for the attention of the Mayor of Nador, a villa described by this media as "a palace consisting of three villas". The rental of this residence costs the State 45,000 dirhams per month. But that’s not the only oddity...
Funds from the Town Hall, intended for projects to benefit the population, would have been used to renovate the said villa, still according to Goud. This media writes that its sources "estimate the amount of renovations and repairs at more than 6 million dirhams, even though it is an official residence".
In addition, the villa has been connected to the coastal road and the main one, with paved roads. For this purpose, funds that, according to the same media, were supposed to be used to open up the rural douars of the region were used.
Furthermore, according to Goud, the Mayor is not the only personality to have benefited from such "good deals" in terms of housing, at the Town Hall. A former khalifa (of a simple qaid) would have been brought back from Midelt by the same municipal authority to appoint him Head of the Financial Services with, in addition, a villa rented at 10,000 dirhams...
