Moroccan Islamist Councilor Found Dead in Villa with Male Companion, Cause Unknown

On April 12, the death of a municipal councilor from the Islamist PJD party, in a bathroom of a rental villa where she was in the company of a man, did not go unnoticed in Imouzzer-Kandar, in the Fès-Meknes region.

According to Akhbar Al Yaoum, the authorities believe that the man who was in the company of this woman from the PJD is in fact her lover. This man is a sexagenarian, originally from Taza, and it is he who would have alerted the authorities. He would be married and a father, and would have, according to the 360 "spent several days with the deceased in the said villa".

The same source states: "According to the investigation, the municipal councilor would have taken leave to go to this town in the Middle Atlas in the middle of the week where she met her companion. They went to a "semssar" and rented a house. The victim took advantage of the man’s absence, who had gone to get dinner, to freshen up. Once back, he found the woman’s body lying under the shower".
