Concerns Grow in Morocco Over Alleged Sale of Donkey Meat

On the web, many Moroccans are concerned about the marketing of donkey meat of unknown origin and are calling on the competent authorities to urgently open investigations.
Questionable meat for sale in Morocco? Images circulating on social networks, allegedly showing donkey meat of unknown origin, are causing debate. Many Moroccan Internet users express concerns. They wonder if this meat is not used by some merchants motivated by greed, and sold as meat fit for consumption, which would be a danger to the health of consumers. They then call on the competent authorities to urgently open investigations in order to determine the origin of this meat and identify those responsible for such practices, if their veracity is confirmed.
These same activists also demand to strengthen the supervision of commercial markets and meat sales outlets, as well as to activate control committees to guarantee the safety of the exposed food and protect the health of citizens. Pending the opening and results of the investigations, they call on Moroccan consumers to be cautious and only buy meat from reliable sources, until the authorities concerned take the necessary measures.
