Comedian Yassine Belattar Slams CNews for Alleged Anti-Muslim Bias
Cnews is facing the outburst of Yassine Belattar who accuses the channel of multiplying attacks against Muslims and Islam.
In a humorous video posted on his Facebook account, Yassine Belattar condemns the Islamophobia conveyed by the French media. This is particularly the case of Cnews which has been illustrating it for several weeks.
The comedian cites in particular the political scientist Guillaume Bigot who recently explained on Cnews: "For the time being, at least, we cannot prohibit a veiled woman from entering the National Assembly. But behind the law, there must be customs and behind customs, there must be morality. For example, the law does not oblige parents to love their children. It is shocking, but not punishable. We can also address an elderly person informally, it is rude, but not punishable."
He extends the list with the other tribune of Islamophobia, LCI, with this excerpt from reporter Judith Waintraub: "Yes, a conversion to Islam must trigger an investigation. Obviously. And it is not being Islamophobic to say so, I’m sorry." And Yassine Belattar concludes: "Wonderful, wonderful as a great thinker would say! It’s new and yet she dares, it’s simple, it’s effective!"
