Far-Right Spokesperson Confronted by Comedian Over Civil War ’Fantasy’

Comedian Yassine Belattar once again faced Thaïs d’Escufon, spokesperson for Génération identitaire, an extreme-right movement whose dissolution procedure has recently been initiated. The Franco-Moroccan believes that his interlocutor fantasizes about "the idea of a civil war".
"Firstly, who are you scaring? And secondly, who do you think you are? If today you want to wear armor like in the Middle Ages, have a sword, and behead the Saracens, you can do that too," launched the 38-year-old comedian. Yassine Belattar drives the point home. "You just need to come down, there are laws and there is justice. You are here for something," he hammered, before questioning the spokesperson of Génération identitaire. "Tell me in the eyes, what you fantasize about is not going out with an Arab or a Black, but you fantasize about the idea of a civil war," he asked Thaïs D’Escufon.
The spokesperson for Génération identitaire replies. She first addressed the issue of the dissolution of her movement. According to her, the dissolution is "a serious attack on freedom of expression". "That doesn’t mean we’re any less determined to fight the massive immigration that, for that matter, is a real danger for the French," she assured. She then speaks out on Islamophobia. "You talk to me about Islamophobia: Islamophobia in France is zero dead, on the other hand, since the Charlie Hebdo attacks, it’s 260 French people killed by Islamist terrorism," she argued against the Franco-Moroccan comedian.
