Chinese Electric Car Maker XEV Plans Manufacturing Expansion to Morocco

Distributed in Italy by Venetian Campello Motors, the 100% electric Chinese city car brand XEV will soon be produced in Morocco. Negotiations are underway.
The production in Morocco of the 100% electric Chinese city car of the XEV brand aims to respond to "a need to shorten the distribution chain by creating a factory close to the European market, to cope with the continuous increase in transport costs and uncertainties due to the international situation," reports the site tracednews.com. The vehicle will be manufactured on a site located near Tangier, "a strategic area for connections with the European market." An agreement with the Moroccan authorities could be officially concluded "in the coming months," to allow effective start of production by 2024.
XEV Trade, 51% owned by Campello Motors and led by Andrea Campello, will be responsible for the distribution and marketing of the vehicle. The European subsidiary of the automotive manufacturer, in Padua, also houses the showroom of the 100% electric brand of which it is the official dealer in Italy. "Our schedule plans to be able to export from Morocco during the first half of 2024," said Giovanna Zandarin.
