Electric Citroën Ami, Made in Morocco, Tops Spain’s Car Sales in 2022

The best-selling car in Spain in 2022 is electric and was made in Morocco. It is the Citroën Ami.
According to the ranking carried out by Anesdor, the Citroën Ami, a 100% electric car manufactured in Kenitra, Morocco, was the best-selling car without a license in Spain in 2022. The Ligier JS50 and the Aixam City follow.
The success of these last two light car models on the Spanish market did not prevent the Citroën Ami from carving out a choice place. This model is enjoying strong commercial success in the countries where it is available, which has forced Stellantis to increase its production, reports Motor.es.
In total, 3,464 cars without a license were sold in Spain in 2022, an increase of 5.5% compared to 2021. An increase largely due to the process of moving towards an entirely electric market. In December 2022, 254 vehicles without a license were marketed in Spain, a significant drop of 21.6% compared to the previous year.
