As the coronavirus has been raging in the People’s Republic of China for a few days, Beijing reassures Rabat that everything will be done to ensure the safety, health and well-being of Moroccan nationals in Xi Jiping’s country, particularly in the city of Wuhan and the province of Hubei.

The embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Beijing issued a press release to inform about the steps taken during this period when the coronavirus is causing victims. It emerges that the government of the People’s Republic of China has assured it that "everything will be done to ensure the safety, health and well-being of Moroccan nationals residing in China, particularly in the city of Wuhan and the province of Hubei".

The embassy states that it is in constant contact with the Chinese authorities and the Moroccan community established in China, to monitor their situation after the appearance of the new coronavirus in the city of Wuhan (Hubei province) and in other Chinese cities. In this regard, it had invited Moroccans residing in China to play the card of maximum vigilance, and to follow ad litteram all the preventive measures recommended by the Chinese authorities, specifying that the situation does not constitute a "health emergency", according to the World Health Organization.

Similarly, the Moroccan diplomatic representation in Beijing set up a crisis unit on Saturday, January 25, for the benefit of members of the Moroccan community established in China, the same source cited by MAP specifies.
