Trains and planes are not authorized to travel to Wuhan, where more than a hundred Moroccan students and nationals of other countries are currently located, reports Al Akhbar. This is a decision taken by the authorities to prevent the epidemic from spreading. The virus affects four other cities. In total, 35 million inhabitants. Among the Moroccans, there are students attending universities and higher institutes in Wuhan, as well as some permanent residents, the same source specifies.
Fortunately, the Moroccan embassy in Beijing informs, no member of the Moroccan community in China is affected by the virus. Nevertheless, the embassy has urged members of the Moroccan community in China to be vigilant, and to strictly follow the preventive measures recommended by the authorities. These include medical examinations in border areas and the ban on any human gathering.
The Moroccan embassy in Beijing has also invited Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) to contact the embassy by phone, providing their passport numbers and addresses, if needed.
