Chelsea's Ziyech Regains Starting Role Under Tuchel After Bench Stint

After a few weeks on the bench, Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech is regaining the fever of the green rectangle. Thomas Tuchel has decided to line up the player twice in a row for the matches Chelsea has played against Manchester United on Sunday, February 28, and against Liverpool on Thursday, March 4.

Thomas Tuchel has certainly given in to the many questions raised by the sidelining of the Moroccan player, who was much sought after in the time of Frank Lampard. The current Chelsea coach had explained the non-titularization of the player by the fact that he needed time to appropriate the realities and subtleties of the English championship.

Before last Thursday, Hakim Ziyech had been lined up on Sunday against Manchester United, without really showing his best days. He was therefore given another chance to make the difference against Liverpool. But unfortunately the Atlas Lion was unable to deliver a performance worthy of his name. He was replaced by Christian Pulisic in the second half.

Hakim Ziyech could choose to try his luck elsewhere, especially since Atlético de Madrid has shown interest in the Moroccan player. According to the Spanish press, the second club in the capital would be ready to recruit Ziyech as early as the next transfer window. The Moroccan player arrived at Chelsea from Ajax Amsterdam on a five-year contract. During the four years spent with Ajax, the Moroccan player scored 48 goals and recorded 82 assists in 165 appearances.
