Chelsea’s Potter Urges Ziyech to Stay Amid Transfer Speculation
Chelsea manager Graham Potter has recently spoken about the future of his player, Hakim Ziyech, urging him to be patient and not leave the club this winter.
Since his performances at the 2022 World Cup with the Moroccan national team, the Moroccan winger is coveted by several European clubs. One of the clubs that would like to acquire his services at all costs is AC Milan. Ziyech himself would have expressed his desire to return to his former club, Ajax Amsterdam.
Before the World Cup, the Moroccan was lacking playing time with the Blues, relegated to a secondary role under Thomas Tuchel’s successor. The Moroccan has not yet started a Premier League match since the change of leadership in September.
However, Graham Potter recently stated that the 26-year-old player has the necessary talent to become a key element of his short and long-term plans, but he will have to wait his turn given the fierce competition for places.
"He’s been a bit away from the starting XI, but he’s been involved in the games. We know his qualities, we love him as a player, he has fantastic qualities that we’ve seen during the World Cup," he said, adding: "He’s a good guy and he has quality, he just needs to be patient."
