Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech Nears PSG Move, Awaits Medical in Paris

After a few months of uncertainty, the departure of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea is only pending the final details being finalized between the London club and PSG.
Hakim Ziyech is currently in Paris to undergo the traditional medical examination. If Chelsea and PSG reach a final agreement, he will join the French champions alongside his teammate and friend Achraf Hakimi. Like many Moroccan players, Hakim Ziyech was courted by many clubs such as Barça, Benfica, Newcastle, AS Roma and many others.
At the start of his difficulties with Chelsea, some media had even indicated that the chances of him returning to Ajax Amsterdam were high. But it seems that it will ultimately be PSG, coached by Christophe Galtier, since he is already in Paris to undergo medical examinations.
This transfer, if it is finalized, will be a relief for the 29-year-old Moroccan player whose adventure at Chelsea has not met the success he hoped for. With the London club, he had a very good start, but the arrival of coach Thomas Tuchel marked the beginning of the difficulties for the Moroccan attacking midfielder. He spent more time on the bench than on the pitch, prompting many former players and observers to advise him to find a club that will know how to value him.
In July 2020, he was transferred from Ajax Amsterdam to Chelsea for an amount of 40 million euros. The slumps with Chelsea have caused his market value to drop to 17 million euros, before exploding after the World Cup. It remains to be known the amount that PSG will be able to put on the table for Ziyech.
