Ceuta Fans Outraged as Broadcaster Labels Local-Born Player ’Moroccan’ During La Liga Match

The commentators of the Sevilla-Valladolid match on the DAZN platform spent time considering Anuar Tuhami as a "Moroccan player" and at no time as a footballer from Ceuta, which has outraged the internet users of the autonomous city.
The constant references to Anuar Tuhami as a "Moroccan player" on social media have outraged the footballers of Ceuta. Yet Anuar is a Moroccan international, even though he was born and raised in the autonomous city and also holds Spanish nationality. The 27-year-old started his career in the San Agustín reserve team until the age of 13 before joining the Valladolid club where he played in the first team last year.
Anuar Tuhami scored a goal in this match and thus allowed his team to earn a point. Sports analysts are unanimous that the midfielder, a native of Ceuta, is one of the best players in La Liga and has proven it again in this match against Seville. He was also voted the most appreciated player of the match.
It had been a long time since a Ceuta player had scored a goal in the first division and enjoyed such notoriety. Even in the second division, Anuar was an important element in Valladolid’s promotion. The young Moroccan is an example of the values and coexistence that prevail in Ceuta. Vox criticized the president of the city, Juan Vivas, for hosting an official reception in honor of the Moroccan after his promotion to the first division.
