Exhausted Moroccan Swimmer Rescued Near Ceuta Coast in Daring Sea Crossing Attempt

The Ceuta rescue service (Marsave) managed to rescue on Saturday an exhausted young Moroccan, after he had tried to reach the autonomous city by swimming from Morocco.
The rescuers located the young man in a wetsuit not far from the La Potabilizadora beach. With the help of the Civil Guard, they managed to save the Moroccan who had tried to swim from Morocco to reach Ceuta. The agents suspect that he was accompanied by another young man, reports El Faro de Ceuta. The young man was handed over to the national police who will proceed with his identification and his subsequent return to Morocco.
The migratory pressure coming from Morocco is increasingly strong and constant, to the point that rescues occur daily. In search of a better future, they throw themselves into the sea, at the risk of their lives, to try to swim to Ceuta in order to reach Spain. This summer, many of them have been rescued in extremis, after being abandoned at sea by jet skis.
