Moroccan Expats Face 5-Hour Border Delays Entering Ceuta During Annual Return

Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) spend an average of five hours waiting at the border before entering Ceuta as part of the return phase of Operation Marhaba.
Last week, MREs expressed their frustration at the slowness noted in the documentary and health checks at the border in Ceuta. In the images and videos circulated on social networks, we see long queues at the Moroccan border, extending from the roundabout of Fnideq to the border entrance, reports Ceuta Ahora.
More than 80% of the slowness recorded at the border was on the Moroccan side, the same source added. For Gonzalo Sanz, advisor to the government delegation of Ceuta and coordinator of Operation Marhaba, this weekend as well as the next one are expected to be intense. On Friday, 600 vehicles entered the autonomous city and a larger flow is expected on Saturday and Sunday.
