Ceuta Deputy Arrested in Drug Trafficking Investigation

Suspected of drug trafficking, Mohamed Ali Duas, deputy of the MDyC, was arrested on Thursday in Ceuta as part of an operation carried out by the Guardia Civil.
Two prison officers and other people were also arrested during this operation, reports El Faro de Ceuta, noting that searches were carried out on Friday at the homes of Mohamed Ali Duas to look for possible evidence. The boats, vehicles and other properties of the defendants were also thoroughly searched.
The accused are accused of drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal organization and corruption. They were arrested following an investigation that has been going on for several months, on the orders of the Audiencia Nacional. The investigation is ongoing and could lead to other arrests.
Mohamed Ali Duas has been a deputy of the MDyC in the Ceuta Assembly since 2023. He was elected in place of Abdelkader Abdeselam. Fatima Hamed’s party obtained 3 seats in the last municipal elections.
