Spanish Police Bust "French Clan" Drug Ring, Seize 700 Kilos of Hashish in Ceuta

Udyco (Drug and Organized Crime Unit) agents arrested six members of a Moroccan hashish trafficking network, known as the "French clan", in Ceuta. They face heavy prison sentences.
These drug traffickers, arrested as part of the Doha operation, were transporting large quantities of hashish from Ceuta to the peninsula, mainly to the Costa del Sol, in vehicles with hidden compartments, reports El Faro de Ceuta. A Civil Guard agent involved in this drug trafficking was arrested and remanded in custody since February. He is accused of maintaining links with several criminal organizations.
The accused were arrested as they were trying to move more than 700 kilos of hashish stored in a warehouse near the Tarajal industrial zone, using vehicles with hidden compartments and false license plates. With the complicity of the agents, the "French clan" thus managed to transport several hashish shipments from Sebta to Algeciras without difficulty in 2024. The drug was packaged in boxes of famous chocolate brands.
In total, more than 200 kilos of hashish were found in a car in Algeciras, nearly 40 kilos in the wheels of another Citroën car at the Ceuta ferry terminal and about 230 kilos in a third vehicle with a hidden compartment. To this are added the 712 kilos found in the Tarajal warehouse on February 19, specify the investigators who designate two of the defendants as the leaders of the criminal network. The others were content to execute orders, in particular to contact suppliers with encrypted phones and to ensure the supply of the network.
The defendants were remanded in custody due to the risk of flight to Morocco, alteration of evidence or recidivism. They face prison sentences of up to 18 years for the alleged heads of the
