Casablanca Water Utility Refutes Ex-Employee's Claims, Assures Safe Drinking Water

The drinking water distribution company, Lydec, has refuted the unfavorable comments of a retired employee of the company on the quality of its services in the Greater Casablanca region. In a press release, Lydec tries to contain the controversy that is raging on social networks.

Lydec issued a press release to refute the allegations of a retired employee of the company about the quality of the water distributed to the populations of Casablanca. "Following a message recently circulated on social networks by a retired employee of the company questioning the quality of the drinking water distributed in Casablanca, Lydec vigorously denies these unfounded claims," the company said in its press release.

It also took the opportunity to reassure its customers that "the distributed water complies with Moroccan health standards".

The company also recalled that contradictory analyses were recently carried out by the Public Testing and Studies Laboratory (LPEE), an independent public body, which also concluded that the quality of the water distributed by Lydec complies with the current Moroccan standard NM 03.7.001, relating to the quality of water intended for human consumption, as part of the strengthening of its usual system.

According to Lydec’s press release, nothing confirms the allegations of the retiree, as the compliance of the water quality is rigorously controlled 24/7, from the Lydec Monitoring and Centralized Control Center, from its arrival in the reservoirs, at the exit of these, then on the distribution network until its delivery to the inhabitants.

Furthermore, the press release states, Lydec publishes a quarterly bulletin of the results of the water quality analyses distributed. This bulletin is available and posted in all Lydec customer agencies and is also available at any time on its website, www.lydec.ma.
