Former SNCF Chief Guillaume Pepy to Lead Suez Subsidiary Lydec in Morocco

Guillaume Pepy, former CEO of SNCF, will soon be in charge of a major Suez subsidiary in Casablanca. His appointment as a future director is on the agenda of Lydec’s general meeting scheduled for June 28.
Guillaume Pepy’s career is about to take a new turn. He will, in the very near future, be at the head of the company Lydec, a major subsidiary of the Suez group in Morocco, in Casablanca. The French senior civil servant told AFP that this is a "non-executive position". Jean-Pascal Darriet will continue to hold the position of CEO of this 51% Suez subsidiary.
The former SNCF executive explained that his appointment is justified by the retirement of the outgoing chairman of the board of directors. This appointment will indeed be the subject of discussions during the general meeting of Lydec (Lyonnaise des eaux Casablanca) scheduled for June 28.
Guillaume Pepy is no stranger to the company. He was a director of Suez for 12 years from 2008 to 2020. "And then I had the chance to accompany the TGV project in Morocco" during those same twelve years, he noted.
Suez has been established in Morocco for more than a century. It is one of the main public service delegataries, through numerous subsidiaries - the largest of which is Lydec - located in several cities. Lydec has been managing the water, electricity and public lighting services of Casablanca since 1997.
