Casablanca Utility Company Suspends Water and Electricity Shutoffs During Lockdown

The coronavirus epidemic and the confinement it imposes have been marked by the multiplication of solidarity initiatives by public and private bodies. Lyonnaise des Eaux de Casablanca (LYDEC) has not deviated from the rule by suspending water and electricity supply cut-off operations during the confinement period.
In a press release, the French delegatee went against the rumors circulated by some websites. "Contrary to totally false and misleading information circulated by two news sites, LYDEC recalls that during the confinement period our country is going through, and in line with national decisions, water and electricity supply cut-off operations have been suspended".
The related fees, generated by the cut-off and restoration of services as well as the late payment, will not be accounted for or invoiced, adds the LYDEC press release, which had decided to limit the movements of its employees.
