Casablanca Tramway Increases Service Frequency During Morocco’s Lockdown

The frequencies of the Casablanca tramway will be reinforced from this Monday, March 30 during certain time slots during this confinement period.
"On March 20, the state of health emergency and confinement were declared throughout the kingdom. As a result, the frequencies on the Casablanca tramway network had been adapted the next day, Saturday March 21, with a tram every 15 minutes on each of the two lines from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m," says a joint press release from Casa Transports and RATP Dev Casablanca.
"In order to comply with one of the instructions of the authorities as part of this health crisis, namely ’no more than 100 people on board each tram’, the frequencies will be improved during certain time slots," continues the same source.
"These new frequencies will come into effect from this Monday, March 30 to better serve the people who continue to travel in large numbers by tram," specifies the same source. Recalling the duty of each in the fight against the coronavirus, Casa Transports and RATP Dev Casablanca call on passengers not to board a tram if all the seats are already occupied.
"Failure to comply with these measures could impact the continuity of the service. We must all be responsible and act together in the face of this pandemic," the press release concludes.
