Casablanca Residents Abandon COVID-19 Precautions, Raising Concerns of New Outbreak

Since the lifting of the lockdown decreed by the government, the inhabitants of Casablanca and Mohammedia have resumed their habits without the slightest preventive measures, thus undermining the government’s efforts to stabilize the epidemiological situation.
In a report, 2M argues that public transport users in the city of Casablanca have completely forgotten the safety measures, including masks and social distancing imposed by the health authorities. According to some passengers met on the spot, it is a horrific and regrettable scene.
For others, discipline is needed in this Covid-19 context. At the beach, the same regrettable gestures are noticed among some young people and the elderly who have forgotten the simplest gestures to protect themselves against Covid-19.
According to the same media, this relaxation is also observed at the level of the tramways and the crowded beaches which have recorded a record influx, this Sunday. "Some people are acting as if nothing had happened. They seem to have forgotten that we have lived through three months of confinement. They live as if the mode of contamination to Covid-19 no longer exists," laments another young person.
