Casablanca Private School Defies Health Emergency, Resumes In-Person Classes

A private primary school, in the Maarif district of Casablanca, has discreetly invited students and teachers to return to their classrooms, starting Monday, April 13, despite the ongoing state of health emergency.
Affiliated with the Bab Rayane association for the protection of children, the Ennakhil school, which is in its immediate vicinity, is responsible for the schooling of dozens of children currently confined within the home, according to the details of an official from the Ministry of National Education.
The teaching staff of the establishment, ensuring distance learning continuity, was surprised by a call from the management, inviting them to resume classroom lessons. Fearing dismissal, half of the teachers had to respond to the call.
To facilitate their travel and avoid being arrested, the school principal thought of everything. He issued the teachers with exemption permits as educators within the association.
The decision is likely to jeopardize the safety of the teaching staff. The official within the ministry remains aware of the risk, although he confirmed that all the people concerned are in a confinement situation.
