Court Orders Private School to Release Student Documents Despite Unpaid Fees

The court of first instance of Khemisset dismissed a private school that demanded from a parent the payment of tuition fees before issuing an administrative document.
A parent asked the management of a private school located in Khemisset to issue a certificate of schooling and transfer for his two children, reports Al Massae. He was met with a categorical refusal from the said management, which demanded that he first pay 5,000 dirhams representing the tuition fees for the months of March, April, May and June 2020.
Seized of the case, the judge of first instance of Khemisset ordered the issuance of the documents. He did not rule on the unpaid fees because this is not within his competence. For the magistrate, the position of the school is a flagrant violation of the basic rights of students and an attempt to prevent students from enjoying their right to education in the school of their choice.
The judge dismissed the school, and the parent finally received the documents.
