Casablanca to Launch Six New RER Stations, Boosting Urban Transit for 2030 World Cup

Nabila Rmili, mayor of Casablanca, announced the upcoming establishment of six Regional Express Network (RER) stations in the city. The launch of the works is scheduled for the end of the year.
New regional train stations will be created in Bernoussi, Ain Sebaâ, Mers Sultan and Hay El Hassani, Nabila Rmili said on Wednesday, during the ordinary session of the municipal council, adding that all the routes to be taken by the RER have already been defined.
This project aims to facilitate mobility in the economic capital of the kingdom and in the neighboring cities, in the perspective of the 2030 World Cup that Morocco will organize alongside Spain and Portugal. Its implementation will be ensured in partnership with the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council and the National Railway Office (ONCF).
The RER will help to streamline traffic in the city and address the problem of congestion, said Mohamed Rabie Khlie, the CEO of ONCF, highlighting the socio-economic impacts of this project which will connect Benslimane to Mohammedia and Nouaceur.
